National Youth Service Week
National Youth Service Week is a campaign throughout Lebanon, started in 2016, to promote, support, and recognize youth service to their society. National Youth Service Week in Lebanon is built upon the foundation of Lebanon’s celebration of “Global Youth Service Days” from 2001-2017 (www.gysd.org). Groups that register their projects for National Youth Service Week will have their projects automatically registered for Global Youth Service Days as well.
Volunteer For Lebanon (تطوّعوا للبنان) (www.volunteerforlebanon.org). is the founder and coordinator of National Youth Service Week. VFL was established to serve as the national hub for volunteering in Lebanon with the mission "to promote, facilitate, and improve volunteering and community service throughout Lebanon." As a hub, we want to link the many initiatives in Lebanon that promote volunteering and we want to provide support to volunteers as well as the organizations, service institutions, schools, universities, companies, and government agencies that recruit, engage, encourage, and support volunteers. Volunteer For Lebanon is non-profit, non-sectarian, non-governmental, with a comprehensive approach to volunteering that serves all the stakeholders in the volunteer eco-system. It received its علم وخبر from the Ministry of Interior (#2025) on September 29, 2015.
National Youth Service Week 2019 is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The official launch of NYSW 2019 will be held at the Ministry on November 14th, at 10:00 am. The Ministery of Youth & Sports will be represented by Joseph Saadallah, Director of the Youth Department of the Ministry.
The main partner for National Youth Service Week 2019 (as it was for NYSW 2017 and 2018) is the American University of Science and Technology (AUST). It provides venues for training programs and other events, material support, and other training assistance.
Another important partner for NYSW is AMIDEAST. Its Access classes have participated regularly in National Youth Service Week and Global Youth Service Days since the Access program started, and its groups have consistently one awards for their exemplary projects.
